Visita Iglesia 2011

Halu der! Bago ang lahat, pa-plug po muna. Huwag sana kayong manibago kung may kaunting revamp sa blog na ito men, may bago kasi akong palaman at ishashare ko sa inyo, sana lang hindi ako tamarin. ahihi. Ok Game!

Last thursday, nagyaya si mapanuri at irmantheman na gumawa ng Visita Iglesia sa mga simbahan sa U-belt. Ang Visita Iglesia pala ay hango sa salitang Espanyol na ang ibig sabihin ay "Church visits". After the shift ay sinimulan na namin ang Visita Iglesia. Unang try ko ito at ito na ang pinakameaningful na ginawa ko kapag holy week bukod sa pagsimba at panonood ng Passion of the Christ. Ito ang pitong simbahan na aming binisita, ayon sa pagkasunod-sunod.


Edsa Shrine Church

The EDSA Shrine, located at the crossroads of Epifanio de los Santos (EDSA) Avenue and Ortigas Avenue in Quezon City, is formally known as the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace (Our Lady of EDSA), It is dedicated to Our Lady who has miraculously interceded to oust the dictatorship in a peaceful and bloodless uprising that is now world renowned as the People Power Revolution of 1986.

St. Jude Thaddeus Church

The present site of St. Jude Parish was donated by Archbishop Rufino J. Santos. The blessing and laying of the cornerstone of the church was held on September 28, 1958. The completed church was blessed on October 23, 1960. Devotees come from far and wide including students, board examination reviewees, office workers, parish and others with all kinds of requests and seemingly hopeless problems.

The Basilica Minore de San Sebastián, better known as San Sebastián Church, is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Manila, the Philippines. It is the seat of the Parish of San Sebastian and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.


Quiapo Church

Quiapo Church, officially known as Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, is a Roman Catholic church located in the District of Quiapo, Manila, in the Philippines. The church is one of the most popular churches in the country. It is home to the Black Nazarene, a much venerated statue of Jesus Christ which many people believe has miraculous attributes

It was built by the Jesuits in 1608 as a parish church for the growing Chinese immigrants in Manila, many of whom had converted to the Catholic faith. When the Jesuits were expelled from the Philippines, the church became Dominican.



Binondo Church

Binondo Church is also known as Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz is located in Binondo, Manila. Founded by the Dominican priests in 1596, Binondo Church is one of the oldest places of Christian worship in the Philippines. It was administered by the Secular Priests in 1768, returned to Dominican Administration in 1822 and back to Secular Priests in 1898.

  4. Medyo matagal na rin akong di nakapag-visita iglesia. Na-miss ko pagkatapos makita ang photos ng churches dito sa blog mo. These past years kasi, madalas retreat lang sa church tapos self-imposed silent retreat with nature.
